Our GO-TO place for huge breakfast burrito. We split it for breakfast- love the veggie breakfast burrito.
The college students love this place, too.
At some point we will eat the other menu items but fir now we live the breakfast burritos - the best! -

The fact that I am not remembering quite well what we had in here is itself a sig that the food is not very memorable.
I recall it being cheap, and being new a college campus, which would seem very convenient.

El Rancho Taqueria is dope! My girlfriend and I were looking for Mexican food and breakfast on Sunday morning and were originally going to Luduka's Cafe, which is located in the same shopping center as El Rancho Taqueria. They were closed, but El Rancho was conveniently located and we figured they likely had breakfast burritos. We were right, and absolutely stoked we stopped on by!
First off, the place was POPPING. Seriously, a ton of people came through while we were dining, so we knew this must be the spot to visit. Despite the fact that it wasn't quite breakfast or dinner time (like 10:30ish), they had a steady stream of customers.
Breakfast burrito was great, tasty, and super filling. Just what I wanted! They carry a variety of breakfast styled meats, too, which is a nice touch. The real MVP was the tacos, though. My girlfriend got them and they were HUGE. Great size, generous portions, and good toppings. Maybe the best looking tacos I've seen. Like, ever. Definitely the best I've seen in the area.
Orders come with chips, and the green and red salsas are both good. Nothing crazy there. The tacos are where it's at, though. Go get 'em. -

Surprisingly good. With so many Mexican restaurants it's hard to tell by food photos whose food has flavor. This one does. Care of flavor. goes in to the sauces, guacamole, pico de gaio, and refried beans. The rice could have used some attention but the texture was good.
Tamales are definitely fresh, nice texture.
Beef enchilada was full of meat. Red enchilada sauce was tasty. As was the sour cream.
Lots of food for the money. Staff is friendly.
Overall great value for your money! -

Remember Agent Sands?!
I am talking about the Johnny Depp character in Robert Rodriguez's 2003 film "Once Upon a Time in Mexico". In the movie Agent Sands and El Mariachi are sitting in a restaurant and Agent Sands says:
"El, you really must try this because it's puerco pibil. It's a slow-roasted pork, nothing fancy. It just happens to be my favorite, and I order it with a tequila and lime in every dive I go to in this country. And honestly, that is the best it's ever been anywhere. In fact, it's too good. It's so good that when I'm finished, I'll pay my check, walk straight into the kitchen and shoot the cook. Because that's what I do. I restore the balance to this country. And that is what I would like from you right now. Help keep the balance by pulling the trigger."
Well, we were in Rohnert Park, not Mexico, and I was having Carnitas, not puerco pibil, and I am no Agent Sands, but every time I step into a taqueria I try their carnitas.
El Rancho Taqueria is an unassuming little place in a small mall. We decided to give it a try and I ordered a Carnitas Plato, a couple of tacos and a glass of horchata. The salsa and chips and the horchata arrived first. The salsa was very good and the horchata even better. When the food arrived, we were both surprised how much meat was on our plates. It was a very generous portion, and it tasted really good. So much so that we got some to go. I know on a plate like this, the rice and refried beans are an afterthought, but even those were good. Considering the quality, taste and the price tag, I'd say this carnitas plate was one of the best deals I've had in a while!
